Wayan Sudarmadja homestay located in Bedulu Village of Gianyar, is an ancient village which has an interesting cultural potential, in the forms of archaeological remains stored in temples and is still sacred as media worship for Hindus. 

In Bedulu there are some artists who were famous and produce works of art that can be seen on exhibition in the House Painting 22, it is also exhibited art works of young painters. In addition to painting and sculpture, there are also some talented dancers who were famous in the 1950's, and had made trips to foreign countries like the Czech Republic, India and others.


Bedulu village in the 1930's had been famous for its dance Cak (Kecak) which is the forerunner of the current Cak dance in Bali. Cak Bedulu dance in those days took the story of Sugriva – Subali, and wore very simple clothing that is made of fabric and saput, hibiscus flower at their ears, and whiting on both their temples. At that time Cak Bedulu performed under the banyan tree in front of Pengastulan Temple, the Palace of Tampaksiring, Taman Ayu Temple in Mengwi, Badung and others.

After Graduated from Gajah Mada University of Yogyakarta majoring in Law, he brings an international perspective to his village, he continue his career in Jakarta until now, but as native son of Bali,He ofter return to his village for his responsibility especially in the local environment.

Wayan has very unique hobby collecting comic from all over indonesia, from 1930 edition is still collected. All collection is stored in Wayan homestay. He is an activist and social worker on community development, and also a biography writer.

Many things can be done in Wayan House, or even you can discuss with the lawyer now....or asking about the comic issue.

Activities:

Painting class
This workshop is exclusively designed to introduce the participant to Balinese painting. They will get individual instruction and produce a painting of their own, to meet  their own satisfaction.
Wood Carving
In this hands-on workshop participants are introduced to some of the basic concepts behind modeling objects in wood. You will become acquainted with the necessary tools and learn basic carving techniques. Under the watchful eye of an instructor, each person will carve a simple object out of the participant. All tools and materials are provided.

Offering making
This is a day of creative fun and education. The participant will learn to make offerings from coloured dough, carved leaves and bamboo. They will also learn the meaning of the daily offerings and how to perform them.

Balinese Cooking
A selection of fascinating traditional Balinese dishes are demonstrated, with participants preparing enough food for their own lunch.
A comprehensive set of recipes are given out with step-by-step instructions on reproducing these delicious spicy dishes in your own kitchen.

Baket  Weaving
Balinese woven basket with a very unique way. From day to day Balinese artists are always creating something interesting and never out of beauty. Various shapes and patterns can be created at any time. You certainly can not miss this experience. So, please come at the ARMA Museum, Ubud. Because of our excellent instructors are always ready to teach you, how to find the uniqueness through this workshop.

Bali Spiritual ( Hinduism )
An in-depth lecture provides insight into the unique brand of Hinduism practiced on Bali. You will learn about the religious rituals and ceremonies that are evident all over the island. The creation of a large ceremonial offering will serve as a demostration for participants to learn how to make thier own offering


Traditional Balinese Architecture
The building of house in Bali is integral to Hinduism. Nothing is left to chance. Everything has meaning. Learn how the traditioanl Balinese houses are designed and built.

Balinese Gamelan
In this 3 hour workshop the group will learn about the history of gamelan, the use of gamelan in the village context, and a demonstration by master musicians and a demonstration by master musicians. The participants will then get an opportunity to play the instruments and learn to play a short piece.

Balinese Dance
This lecture provides basic information concerning the traditional dance within the ritual context.Two of the most famous dancers in Bali will demonstrate the particular movements and the attending steps. Afterwards, the participants will given the opportunity to learn and practice the dance by themselves.
Women will learn some features of the Panyembrahma welcome dance, and the men learn some basic movements of Baris warrior dance. 

Bedulu Archaeological Tour
Archaeological Tour is a  visiting  the village that will be guided by the chaperon . You can explore the ancient and historic places in Bedulu area. you will be given an explanation about the places that you visited.
